How many can the Hall accommodate?

The Main Hall is suitable for children’s parties up to 25 to 30 children. For performances, film shows, meetings, where seating is in rows, the Main Hall can take about 100 people. For social events, craft making sessions, etc., where there are tables, probably no more than 60. The Robert Piper Room is suitable for small meetings, dance classes, exercise groups up to 15 to 20 people. To get a better idea of the size it is worth looking at the Pictures on this website, see Menu bar above

Is it suitable for children’s parties?

The Main Hall is very popular for young children’s parties and the feedback from parents/carers is always very positive. It will accommodate a fairly large bouncy castle and we have brightly coloured chairs and tables suitable for young children. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE PLAY AREA IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR HIRE AS THIS IS FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF OUR PRE-SCHOOL

How much does it cost?

We charge per session rather than an hourly rate. Sessions are from 8am to 1pm and 1pm to 6pm on Saturdays, Sundays, and during school holidays. During the week in school term time, the Main Hall and the Robert Piper Room are used by Southwater Village Hall Pre-School during the day and so are not available for hire.

For children’s parties the charge for using the Hall which includes the Robert Piper Room is £60.

For other bookings the charge for using the Main Hall is £60 per session and £30 for the Robert Piper Room. A lower rate will be charged for local registered charitable or voluntary groups.

When is the Hall available?

If you check the Calendar [on Menu bar above] you can see when the Main Hall and the Robert Piper Room are available?  It is a good idea to do this before you complete the contact form.

Can I book the Hall for an adult’s party

The Hall is not staffed and because of past difficulties we took the decision not to hire out the Hall for adult parties or for young people aged 13 and above

Are there chairs and tables?

There are chairs and tables suitable for up to 30 young children and tables and chairs for up to 100 adults. We have additional tables for sales, shows and exhibitions.

What about using the Kitchen?

The kitchen is available for anyone who books the Main Hall and there is no extra charge for this. There is a domestic gas oven and hob. You will need to bring your own saucepans, baking trays and cooking utensils. You will also need to bring your own tea towels and washing up liquid. We do provide plates, cups and saucers. There is also a fridge in the room adjoining the kitchen but it has no freezer compartment.

Is there Wifi?
